Coverage is broad, not complete
The site contains selected published law firm office and area-of-law information across every Australian state and territory. It is not a census of all lawyers. A missing firm does not establish that it is unavailable or unsuitable, and a visible firm does not establish current capacity.
One public information source
Lawyer search pages, law firm pages, location panels and sitemaps use the same public data view. Editorial pages do not maintain a hidden list of preferred firms. Office, law firm, contact and area-of-law labels describe the source information and should be confirmed directly.
Ordering is not a ranking
Featured status can affect presentation order. Remaining ordering uses record-completeness and business-name fields. Neither method evaluates legal skill, service quality, likely outcome or value. Find Law Firm does not calculate a “best firm” score.
Identity and contact safeguards
When a contact identity requires review, website, telephone and email links are withheld and the law firm page is excluded from indexing. Other law firm pages still require an independent lawyer-register and communication-channel check before confidential documents or money are sent.
Area of law and city publication rule
All 288 supported area/city combinations remain usable. A page becomes indexable and enters the XML sitemap only when at least three safe, indexable law firms match the city, state and area of law. This prevents empty or weak local pages from being promoted.
Law firm page indexing rule
A law firm page is technically eligible only when the production site is approved for indexing, the page has a safe self-canonical URL, its identity is not flagged and its site assignment permits indexing. Search engines make the final indexing decision.
Freshness, duplicate offices and corrections
An information review date concerns published law firm information, not a lawyer’s registration. Several offices for one brand may be legitimate. Potential duplicates are review signals rather than grounds for automatic deletion. Evidence-backed corrections are assessed against firm-controlled, regulator or other authoritative material.
